My jeep build date was and the dealer told me that other Jeeps built around that time may also have similar problems. 2014+ Jeep Cherokee Tech/Performance Section. Now, after 5 weeks of rain and car washes, PROBLEM SOLVED.! There are quite a few advantages, like keeping the battery away from the deadly engine compartment heat. Now, to make a long story shorter and after 5 different visits to the dealer trying to find how the water was getting into the battery box from checking the sunroof drains, a/c evaporator drain and the fresh air intake on the outside cowl panel, they had to pull the entire passenger side seat, carpet and front "FENDER" off and found that where the passenger side front A-pillar joined the rocker panel assembly that "NO" body seam sealer had been applied from the factory build and that was allowing both rain & car wash water to leak in and run underneath the carpet into the battery box. The only time I really heard it was when I backed out of my parking space and hit the brake with the radio turned down. I started to hear a sloshing sound coming from somewhere on the front passenger seat side area. At that point I was washing the GC about once or twice a week when it wasn't raining. I loved it and had no problems with it until the freezing weather started to turn into spring like weather a month later. I ordered a new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 EcoDiesel on and picked it up on.
